You are eligible to apply for AGS if you: (1) are currently enrolled at the College of Marin, (2) have completed 12 graded units during a maximum of 3 semesters or 5 quaters at any recognized institution of higher education, and (3) possess a grade point average of 3.0 or better from the previous semester, a cumulative grade point average of 3.0, or Life membership in the California Scholarship Federation (the State High School Honor Society).

active membership requirements
- Submission of application and proof of eligibility by the application deadline
- Payment of $20.00 membership fee upon submission of application (Due Sept. 30,
2009 or a flat rate late fee of $10. Oct. 16 is last day we will accept
application)
- Attendance of all mandatory meetings
- Completion of points sheet, at least 6 points from each category outlined in the service guideline
- Voting at the mandatory election meeting |

permanent membership

Submission of application for Permanent Membership and proof of eligibility
Completion of at least 60 units of recognized college courses (at least 54 graded, 6 may be credit courses) with a minimum of 30 graded units at a community college.
Maintenance of a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or better in all recognized college work and active membership in AGS for at least 1 semester
OR
Maintenance of a cumulative GPA of 3.25 or better in all recognized college work and active membership in AGS for at least 2 semesters

A Life Member of the California Scholarship Federation may become a temporary member during his or her first semester at the College of Marin and upon payment of membership dues shall have all the privileges of active membership except that of holding office
A continuing active member whose grade point average falls between 3.0 and 2.8 upon payment of dues shall be allowed for one semester all the privileges of membership except that of holding office |
